Dear Leader,
I don't know about you but whenever I complete a task or a project I feel exhilarated. Every successful initiative gives me a buzz and the confidence for the next challenge. Many a times there is that twing of self satisfaction; 'did I really achieve this?' but immediately I put a break on that line of thought.
The higher a leader goes in the authority and power ladder, the more the temptation to become proud, boastful and arrogant. It is very easy to think our success comes from our own wisdom, strength and ability.
There was a very powerful king who was so successful in his exploits. He was conquering nations left, right and center; gathering all the nation under his control and filling his coffers with their wealth. This success got to his head. “By the strength of my hand
I have done this, and by my wisdom, because I have
understanding". he told himself. What great things I have done, he tought. "I removed the
boundaries of nations, I plundered their
treasures; like a mighty one I subdued their kings". This king so full of himself, he did not know that he was just a vessel in the hands of the King of kings. His arrogance led to his destruction (the story is told in Isaiah 10). Pride comes before a fall.
Our ability to succeed as a leader comes from God. A leader who impacts lives' positively, recognizes and acknowledges that he or she is merely a vessel (unto honor), used by God to bless people. You are a leader because God chose you, and His choosing you is a gift. You have the ability to impact lives because God empowers you. You are the light of the world because you belong to the Light. Never take your leadership position for granted.
Let your light shine but remember the Source of your light.
