Your Talent is a gift.

The story of Eric Liddell is an inspiration on many levels. Eric was born in 1902 in Northern China, to Scottish missionary parents. From the age of six in boarding school he became an outstanding sportsman. He excelled in many sports - cricket, rugby, athletics. But it was athletics that his supersonic speed power was evident. He became the fastest runner in Scotland and was soon on the Olympics team for his country. 

Despite his accomplishment on the sports field, it was a singular act that first brought him to international awareness - his refusal to do the 100m final on a Sunday. His reason? It was a matter of principle, as a Christian his Sundays was for rest and worship. He didn't compete in the 100m but did in the 400m and won, breaking the Olympic and world records. 

“Those who honour me I will honour.” 1 Samuel 2:30.

Not only did Eric stood for his beliefs, on his talent he said, "I believe that God made me for a purpose. But He also made me fast, and when I run, I feel His pleasure." 

There is no greater joy in work when you are doing a job that you love and have the talent for. When you recognize your talents as gift from the Almighty God, and you desire to use your talent to glorify Him, there is no way you won't be successful.
